Her name is Sheyka Govea; she is eighteen years old.  She was born in El Paso, TX on September 17, 1991.  Raised in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, where she studied most of her elementary years in a private school.  At the age of nine her parents decided to move to El Paso, Texas, so she could learn a second language, English. 

She studied at Vilas elementary.  She spent her middle school years at Wiggs Middle School. In 2009 she graduated from El Paso High, were she was involved in many extracurricular activities like flags/marching band, soccer, NHS, FCCLA, DECA, dance and cheerleading.  As a sophomore, she started working at a restaurant to save up for her first car. 

During her senior year she took a class which certified her for Medical Administration procedures, she was awarded a scholarship to attend The University of Texas at El Paso and also signed up to participate in the 2009-2010 Fiesta de las Flores Pageant which took place during the summer.  In this pageant, she competed against 12 contestants and won. 

With this victory, she would like to inspire her community especially the youth of El Paso by promoting education, sports, and other extracurricular activities that will keep their minds busy and away from drugs and other vices.  Currently she is attending the University of Texas at El Paso to become a Registered Nurse, and later on specialize in neonatal care.
